GREENET workshop on potential and emerging value-chains in energy

On 19th May 2023, GREENET, organized the 1st online thematic workshop / info day, on existing and potential and/or emerging value chains in the energy field in widening countries. The workshop/info day attended 48 participants.
Participants had the opportunity to informed about GREENET project and upcoming funding opportunities and events of Cluster 5 Energy thematic area. Successful beneficiaries coming from widening countries (Greece and Portugal) presented best practices of existing value chains in the frame of research projects in the area of batteries and heating, and they further shared thoughts, ideas and recommendations during a dedicated session, on ways to incorporate key elements of the energy value chain approach in ongoing or future projects. Participants could also interact by sharing their questions via slido application.
Moreover, the speakers highlighted key issues regarding the value chain approach in energy at proposal preparation stage and some of the main challenges and opportunities for the widening countries in the process of creating new or integrating in the existing ones. The role of international associations and partnerships as well as the partners in a consortium, citizens engagement and policy integration, noted as vital for the integration of a value chain approach in energy. Materials availability, technologies development but also application/implementation considered vital stages of the energy value chain.
Concluding remarks and evaluation of the workshop will be a feedback for the next workshops and info days on existing emerging and/or potential value chains in energy in widening countries, which are going to take place in the context of future activities of GREENET Project.
