This online stakeholder training event is hosted in collaboration with the European Commission’s Department DG HOME and REA. It forms part of a series of SEREN5, the NCP network for Cluster 3, training sessions, which aims to raise the standards of learning and knowledge for its stakeholders, which in turn contributes to improving the quality of Horizon Europe proposals.

The training is organized by SEREN5 with the support of the following Horizon Europe NCPs Networks: COSMOS (Cluster 4 Space) – NCP4Industry (Cluster 4 Industry) - Net4Society (Cluster 2) – CARE4BIO (Cluster 6).

The Security Appraisal Process

Actions funded under Horizon Europe are required to comply with the applicable security rules and in particular rules on the protection of classified and/or sensitive information against unauthorised disclosure, including compliance with any relevant Union and national law.

The Security Appraisal Process is that which has been designed to uphold compliance to the security rules and is coordinated by DG HOME. The process is carried out by the Commission in partnership with national security experts, with its main objectives to identify security issues within proposals, and where applicable offer up security recommendations, which may include, among others, the classification of certain deliverables by the project.
