Published on: 20/07/2023

There is an increase in the number of proposals submitted under the June cut-off despite the platform change and the deadline delay.

The EIC Accelerator cut-off closed on 21 June 2023 with 648 full proposals submitted. This marks an increase compared to the previous cut-offs in January and March 2023 (respectively 476 and 551 full proposals submitted). This also follows the switch in the application platform that took place on 2 June 2023. Applicants come from 34 countries, including 15 widening countries, and around one fifth (107) applied to the set of strategy challenges identified for 2024.

Proposals are now being evaluated by independent experts. The most promising companies will then be invited to pitch in front of a jury of investors and business experts in September, with selection decisions expected in October 2023.

Next cut-off - 4 October

The last Accelerator cut-off for full (Step 2) proposals this year is planned for 4 October 2023. Companies who are preparing short (Step 1) applications will be the first ones to test the new IT Platform for short proposals. EISMEA aims to continue with a fast evaluation of all short (Step 1) applications within four weeks. Successful Step 1 applicants will then still have sufficient time to prepare a full (Step 2) proposal for the 4 October 2023 cut-off or will have up to one year to submit for a subsequent cut-off, with dates for 2024 to be announced in the Autumn.

Background information

Recently the EIC migrated to the Electronic Submission System hosted on the Funding and tender opportunities portal. To accommodate the change for applicants, the deadline for submissions for the 7 June 2023 cut-off has been delayed with two weeks until 21 June 2023 at 17.00.
