NCP WIDERA.NET announces first study visit for research managers

The NCP_WIDERA.NET project has announced its first study visit for research managers and administrators (RMAs) from Widening countries. The 3-day visit will be hosted by the Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC) in Barcelona, Spain, 14-16 February 2024.

The study visit aims to provide 25 RMAs, both experienced and early career, with the opportunity to access excellent practices and networks at IBEC. Participants will take home valuable lessons learned to better support research activities at their home institutions. IBEC is a leading bioengineering research centre conducting interdisciplinary work across nanomedicine, biophysics, biotechnology and more. With 350 researchers across 20 groups, IBEC has a strong record of success - including 20 ERC grants, 40 patents filed, and 5 spin-offs created. The visit will provide behind-the-scenes access to areas like IBEC's Technology Transfer Office, Strategic Initiative Unit, and Project Office. Participants will learn about best practices in bioengineering research administration and commercialization.
