Water4All

The Water4All Partnership, cofunded by the European Union within the frame of the Horizon Europe programme, aims at enabling water security for all. It will boost systemic transformations and foster the matchmaking between problem owners and solution providers. 

Launched in June 2022, Water4All brings together a wide and cohesive group of 90 partners from 33 countries in the European Union and beyond.

 

The objectives are:

  1. Strengthening the water Research and Innovation (R&I) collaboration & strategic coordination
  2. Supporting and promoting demonstration and access to the market of innovative solutions
  3.  Communicating water-related knowledge & data
  4.  Providing tools for water management
  5. Designing and implementing approaches for participatory development of innovation

Provides funding for Projects that aim at enabling water security for all in the long term through boosting systemic transformations and changes across the entire research – water innovation pipeline, fostering the matchmaking between problem owners and solution providers.
Funding dimension of projects There are no overall rules for a maximum budget per proposal, but like most cofunded partnership, the average size for proposals is medium (1- 2M€ per average), and each funding agency defines the maximum funding per partner/coordinator, depending on the country.
Dimension of consortium The project must be a transnational project involving eligible research partners from at least three different countries participating in the call. In addition, at least two eligible partners must be from different EU Member States or Horizon Europe Associated Countries participating in the call. In this call, the only participating countries that are currently NOT EU Member States or HE Associated Countries are: Brazil, Switzerland, South Africa and United Kingdom. Consortia of a maximum of 7 partners (including a potential self-funded partner) are allowed
Envisaged impact Tackle water challenges as means to face climate change, help to achieve the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals and boost the EU’s competitiveness and growth.
