Under the single-stage calls, applicants have already submitted final proposals, which are now being evaluated by independent experts. Successful applicants will be notified as of mid-December 2025 and the first projects are expected to start in June 2026.
Under the two-stage calls, applicants submitted initial 'outline' proposals by 4 September 2025. These proposals are now being evaluated only against the ‘excellence’ and ‘impact’ award criteria.
Applicants selected in this first stage will be invited to submit full proposals by 18 February 2026 and will be evaluated against the full set of award criteria.
Applicants selected in the second and final stage will be notified in July 2026, and the first projects are expected to start in November 2026.
In total there are 1,406 research proposals competing for €948.9 million in EU funding to support research in sustainable food, bioeconomy, natural resources, agriculture, and environment.
