The guide gives insight into the risks when you use Generative AI (GenAI) while writing a project proposal for Horizon Europe and Eureka.

NCP4Missions partners Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) have published a useful guide on what to keep in mind when using AI for proposal writing. The guide outlines potential consequences for eligibility, privacy and patents, and how to mitigate those. It also includes useful tips on what to discuss with your consortium and any consultants you might work with while preparing your proposal.

A few takeaways:

  • Not upholding to AI guidelines of funding programmes can make a proposal ineligible
  • GenAI tools are often never fully private: treat them as open-source tools
  • Do not use GenAI tools on an idea that you would like to patent later
  • Consider signing agreements with consultants and consortium members on the use of AI
