Sharing scientific evidence with policymakers: New toolkit published by the European Commission

Published on: 23/06/2025

Does your project include results that are relevant for public policy? The European Research Executive Agency has published a practical guide to help you bring your project’s results and recommendations to the attention of policy makers at the European, national, regional or local level.

The starter kit includes step-by-step advice, an overview of key  resources, and tips to amplify the impact of your project’s scientific evidence.

Why is it important to communicate project results to policy makers? "Scientific evidence resulting from projects like yours can help inform policymakers of the issues at stake in different policy fields," the report states. "It can provide insights for legislative initiatives, the design of future research and innovation funding programmes as well as evaluations or international negotiations. This is what citizens expect. We invite you to be part of efforts to ensure policymaking is evidence-informed, ultimately leading to better legislation and policies for society."
