European Defence Found New call

The European Defence Found (EDF) is the key instrument through which DG DEFIS supports the strengthening of the European defence industrial and technological base, the competitiveness of the defence industry, and the freedom of action of member states and Norway.
In this perspective, the programme finances collaborative defence research and capability development projects, thus complementing national investments and aiming to promote an innovative and competitive defence ecosystem.
To make the European Defence Found even more impactful in its mission, the Commission has set up the EU Defence Innovation Scheme (EUDIS), which consists of a set of concrete measures to break down barriers and put in place a wide range of support to help innovative EU companies bring their ideas to market and make a difference for EU Defence.
It is in this light that the spin-in calls, launched under EDF Work Programme 2023, cover three key topics: Automation of security penetration tests (EDF-2023-RA-SI-CYBER-ASPT), Innovative propulsion systems for defence applications (EDF-2023-RA-SI-ENERENV-IPS) and High-performance materials (EDF-2023-RA-SI-MATCOMP-HPM).
