Factsheet: The value of social engagement in Soil Mission
Mission Soil aims to improve soil health by establishing 100 Living Labs and Lighthouses by 2030, promoting sustainable land management practices. It focuses on objectives such as reducing land degradation, conserving soil carbon, and enhancing soil quality. Social engagement is critical to the mission's success, with activities that include raising awareness, communication, education, and the co-design of soil protection solutions. The LOESS project exemplifies effective social engagement through workshops, forums, and Communities of Practice (CoPs), fostering knowledge exchange and collaboration. These efforts aim to increase soil literacy, connect stakeholders, and drive action for soil protection and restoration across Europe.
